Computer Animation Degree - Learn How To Make Games

By Nic Haffner Platinum Quality Author

Maybe you have decided that you want to go into the field of computer animation and not just for the money that can be gained but because you love the thought of making art on a computer. Unfortunately, this is not just a field you can jump into without a degree even if you have the extraordinary artistic talent of computer animation. The good news is that you can earn a degree and be on your way to doing your dream job in sometimes under a year.

Not all computer animation degrees are alike. If you want a two-year education, you can get an Associate of Arts Degree or an Associate of Science Degree in animation programming. If you want a four-year education, you can get a Bachelor of Arts Degree or a Bachelor of Science Degree in computer animation. Beyond that, there are varying specialties within each of these degrees available at each college. For example, some of the most popular specialties are graphic animation, website animation, and video game animation.

Whichever animation degrees you go after, you will get plenty of first hand experience in a variety of forms of graphic animation and graphic design. You will get practice on some of the latest software and animation techniques. You'll learn all about how real-world animators are working with computer graphics texturing, background effects, and lighting.

As you advance, you will be taken into deeper animation techniques. This is where you'll get into the really exciting parts of it such as animated cartoons and movies. You will learn 3-D modeling, video editing, and audio editing technologies. If you are in a four-year degree program, you will also begin to develop your animated degree project. Completion of this animation project is required for most of these degrees, similar to a thesis in more scholastic degree programs.

In conclusion, a computer animation course can take you places that you may not even thought you could go. This is becoming one of the biggest industries in the world, especially since they are coming out with new video games and animated movies on a consistent basis. If you would like more information on taking a graphic data animation course just click on the link provided. You may find yourself in such a course quicker than you had originally planned.
